Hi again!
I won’t insult your intelligence and pretend I’m in phase of life where I’m somehow able to thrive creatively. I’m finding it extremely difficult to write when we’re bombarded by violent images of starving children and mass destruction on the daily. I cannot manage to compartmentalize statements like “death is better than this.”
I guess I must not understand Catholicism all that well, but you’d think at some point Joe Biden (or, at least, whoever is currently controlling his puppet strings) would recognize that a seemingly guaranteed election loss might as well spin a ceasefire (i.e. a little human decency) in his favor. A last Hail Mary before death. Even John McCain managed a final mea culpa on the Senate floor. But then again, Rudolf Höss made it to Confession before his execution, so perhaps Biden is just playing the long game. What was it that Hannah Arendt warned us about again?
When I let myself sit alone with my thoughts, I just feel profound sadness. This is why I’ve been trying to keep in motion at all times. I recently started playing tennis again after a 15+ year hiatus, and the endorphin rush has been amazing. I highly recommend going for long walks and a few sessions of high intensity exercise here and there. It really does make life on this planet a little more manageable.
In this issue, you’ll find my thoughts on a much fluffier (literally) topic — my love of the noble throw pillow — as well as my top art picks under 50€.

So here are some of my current favorites:
