Happy Sunday!
My friends from the US, Kelsey and Christina, visited me this past week and we had a blast, so I thought I’d run through the itinerary I put together for us in case it could serve as inspiration for anyone.
There is obviously no way to make it through all Berlin has to offer in just four weekdays, but here’s what we did accomplish:
Monday:
My friends arrived around 2 PM and we had a late lunch at home. We walked through Kreuzberg, starting around Engelbecken, then Oranienstraße to check out the famously well-curated Voo Store, and finally through Kottbusser Tor to pick up a späti drink at Admiralbrücke. We made our way over to Paul-Lincke-Ufer for a stroll along the canal - I wanted to go to La Maison for a beverage, but, like many establishments in Berlin, it’s closed on Mondays. Luckily there are plenty of other options available, so it’s easy to just check out whatever you stumble upon, on Maybachufer as well. I thought about Spindler, but it’s also closed on Mondays. We decided to skip a sit-down dinner and headed to Tempelhofer Feld instead to watch the sunset, where a couple of my friends met up with us. Kelsey and Christina wanted to try Berlin’s famous Döner Kebab, so we stopped somewhere along Hermannstraße after the park - I know people are very serious about their kebab choices, but I’d say it’s pretty hard to mess up. They all taste the same to me. We ended the night with a drink at Villa Neukölln.
Tuesday:
After breakfast at home, we hit the typical tourist spots, walking from my apartment to Museuminsel, briefly considered doing a tour of the Berlin Cathedral but decided against it, walked over to Hackescher Markt and back along Unter den Linden to admire all the fancy architecture, and then over to the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. We ended in Gendarmenmarkt with a late lunch at Augustiner, the bar/restaurant my friends and I always went to during our master’s. We headed back home for wine on the balcony and got ready for espresso martinis at Zum Krokodil on Weserstraße, and then went to dinner at Beuster (where we were seated next to a very well-known Berlin influencer, so you know it’s a trendy spot!)
Wednesday:
We had a little too much wine at dinner so our original plan to either check out the Neue Nationalgalerie or Hamburger Bahnhof Museum was quickly scrapped - we watched three episodes of Emily in Paris on my sofa instead. We finally decided to go check out the East Side Gallery, which, despite living around the corner, I have remarkably never walked in its entirety. We then walked through Friedrichshain to the big Humana at Frankfurter Tor for a bit of thrifting, stopped to look at the books at Shakespeare & Sons, and walked through Boxhagener Platz, stopping for Kaffee und Kuchen. After that, we headed back home and took a pause before walking along Bergmannstraße (probably my favorite street in Berlin). We then walked over to Golgatha, the Biergarten in Viktoriapark, where we met a bunch of my friends for a very fun evening.
Thursday:
This was Christina’s 30th birthday, so we had a leisurely brunch at home with mimosas, and then went shopping in Mitte, ending with another Kaffee und Kuchen at Zeit für Brot. We went back home for (you guessed it) wine on the balcony and then went to Torbar, where we had a lovely table on the terrace and spent almost five hours at dinner with tons of cocktails, oysters, mussels, and fries. I had wanted us to get drinks at Neue Odessa Bar afterwards, but we ended up meeting a few friends and going to a random dance bar on Torstraße instead, which was a perfect end to the night.
Friday:
Kelsey and Christina flew to Paris in the morning, and after this jam-packed week, I spent most of the day sleeping!
Wish upon a star
We stopped into American Vintage on Thursday during our Mitte shopping outing, and I fell in love with this adorable pink cardigan. I have no need for it in my wardrobe, but I really have not stopped thinking about it since. I may have to keep an eye on it.
On Friday night out at a bar, a lovely new friend of mine and I were discussing how much we love Glossier products, and as soon as I mentioned wanting to try their perfume, I realized she was actually wearing it. It’s called You and smells absolutely amazing - I officially have it on my list for the next time I’m in the US, or if I make it over to the UK. Fingers crossed they start shipping to Germany soon.
I’ve been searching for a good basic neutral tank to wear with denim shorts, and I love this one from Intimissimi. Great to have so many color options as well.

I’ve been extremely busy since turning in my master’s thesis back in May, but I finally have some sustained downtime (I can actually feel my stress levels coming down), so this week I’ll be zeroing in on the many TikTok/social media promises I’ve made over the past couple of months, which I’m really excited about. I’ll also be switching up my content a bit as well, so stay tuned for that.
See you next Sunday!
What a great time you guys must’ve had in Berlin! Definitely made me want to come back there x
